DC ADMINISTERES VOTER’S PLEDGE ON NATIONAL VOTERS DAY AT KHONSA.

Khonsa 25th January, 2019 : Along with rest of the country – National Voters Day was celebrated at Govt. Secondary School, Khonsa wherein Tirap Deputy Commissioner administered Voter’s pledged taking to the students in presence of Headmaster Taging Akhang, GTSS, Khonsa, teachers, Nodal Officer (SVEEP) Papang Duggong, ERO (H/Q) Hakresha Kri, and HoDs.
While administering the Voter’s Pledge on the occasion – Tirap Deputy Commissioner P.N. Thungon urged the voters to uphold the democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections, and to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement, he added that we the citizen of India, having abiding faith in democracy. Later, the DC distributed prizes to the winners of Painting and Essay Writing Competition.
Nodal Officer (SVEEP) Papang Duggong highlighted about the importance of National Voters Day stating that the Election Commission of India initiated the practice of celebrating National Voters’ Day in 2011. The National Voters’ Day which is celebrated on the 25th of January is considered to be one of the best initiatives of SVEEP. The day has been celebrated since 2011 in an initiative to increase the enrolment of voters in the country.
ERO(H/Q) Hakresha Kri, EAC spoke about the voting rights on attaining 18 years of age and urged the students to motivate their parents to choose and elect a good leader to represent the people in a better way. He informed that SVEEP or Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation is a program launched by the Election Commission of India. The main aim and objective of the program is to inform and educate people about the importance of voting and to motivate voters.
Later, Nodal Officer (EVM) Nokgen Wangsu, DSO(Statistical), Khonsa demonstrated EVM (Electronic Voting Machine)to the students on the occasion. (DIPRO)

Tirap Conducts Run For Unity On Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Along with rest of the country – in Tirap District Run for Unity – a mini marathon was conducted under the aegis of District Sports Authority in collaboration with District Administration, Khonsa to commemorate the143rd Birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October, 2018.
While flagging off the mini marathon run for peace Tirap Deputy Commissioner P.N. Thungon said that the Run for Unity is organized to encourage Indians to run in tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Sardar Patel worked hard to get more than 550 princely states together to make India one. It’s only right that we remember him today.Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also known as first Deputy Prime Minister of India.
Participating in the Run for Unity, Tirap Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Meena, IPS said that it’s only fair to remember Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who worked hard to make India one post independence during “Post our freedom movement, the SP recalled the very strong quote of Sardar Patel “there is something unique in this soil, which despite many obstacle has always remained the abode of great souls”.
Earlier, Pledge of “Run for Unity” was administered by Tirap DC P.N. Thungon to mark the 143rd Birth Anniversary of Sardar Patel.
Trophies with certificates to the winners of the event for Men category was given away by the Deputy Commissioner P.N. Thungon and Tirap SP J.K Meena gave away to the winners of Women category.
Men category : 1st Wanglo Wangsa.
2nd Ashish Kumar and 3rd Wangtei Losu.
Women category : 1st Nyiniam Aboh
2nd Chumto Noksak and 3rd Pheli Wangpan.
The run for unity event concluded with vote of thanks from DSO(Sports) Noah Mongku.

VAHAN 4.0 implemented at Tirap District

The District Transport Office, Khonsa have recently migrated their Vehicle registration system to VAHAN 4.0 Online System. This is done in accordance with the instructions received from the Directorate of Transport, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.
VAHAN is the flagship e-Governance application under National Transport Project. Its mission is to automate all Vehicle Registration related activities in transport authorities of country to handle issues like interstate transport vehicle movement and to create state and national level registers of vehicles information.

The DC appreciated the District Informatics Officer Rakesh Das, NIC Tirap and the District Transport Officer A.K. Wangsaham for their efforts in successful migration to the online system. (DIPRO)

TIRAP RUN AGAINST DRUG ABUSE AND ILLICIT & TRAFFICKING

Khonsa 26rd June, 2019 : Along with rest of the countries – International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, 2019 with a theme “ Health for Justice – Justice for Health” was jointly organized by department of Health & Family Welfare and Care Me Home Society, Khonsa on 26th June, 2019 wherein mini marathon from Khonsa Bazar Taxi stand to KV school and back to Taxi stand covered 4 kms for both male & female category was also conducted to mark “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in which cash prizes to the winners for both male & female was ponsored by Care Me Home Welfare Society @ 1st prize @Rs. 5000/-, 2nd Prize Rs. 3000/- and 3rd Prize Rs. 1500/- was sponsored by “Care Me Home Society”.
While flagging off the Mini Marathon on the occasion – Chief Guest cum DC Tirap P.N. Thungon appealed the youths of Tirap District to shun Drug Abuse and illicit trafficking in the region, he added that the districts of TCL “Tirap Changlang and Longding” are badly affected with Kaani Poppy cultivation and most of the youths are addicted with brown sugar and Kaani which is not only harmful to health but also hampered the entire family and parent due to frequent demand of money for drugs and Kaani. The DC further appreciated health department and Care Me Home Welfare Society for successfully conducting the mini marathon in a grand manner. The Mini Marathon for 4 km race was began with a Slogan “ NO TO DRUGS – YES TO LIFE” from “Care Me Home Welfare Society” Chairperson Smti Sontung Bangsia which slogan was followed by all the participants.
While reading the name of the winners of Mini Marathon DMO, Khonsa Dr. K. Mossang praised DC Tirap P.N. Thungon for sparing his precious time to graced the day and appreciated all the participants for actively participated in the “Run Against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking and make the programme a grand success.

1st Miss Kamcha Kamhua received Rs. 5000/- cash being 1st Prize
2nd Miss Chajo Tesia received Rs. 3000/- cash being 2nd Prize
3rd Miss Phithian Affi received Rs. 1500/- cash being 3rd Prize.

MALE CATEGORY
1st Shri Wakhian Tekwa received Rs. 5000/- cash being first prize
2nd Shri Wanglo Losu received Rs. 3000/- cash being 2nd prize
3nd Shri Wangse Hakhun received Rs. 1500/- cash being 3rd prize.
The program was attended by all Medical Officers from General Hospital, Khonsa, Members from Care Me Home Welfare Society, DSO(Sports) Noah Mongku, Public and students from different places of the district.
