INTROSPECTION OF EDUCATION SCENARIO IN TIRAP HELD

Khonsa 20th July, 2020 : Bhanu Prabha DC today called a meeting to introspect the education scenario in, Tirap District. The administrative officers, DDSE and all the Principals from Government Higher Secondary Schools – Khonsa, Deomali and Borduria, Headmasters from Secondary Schools –,Khonsa, Soha, Deomali, Thinsa, Kapu, Lazu, Dadam, Pinewood School, Upper Kolam attended the meeting. This was necessitated consequent upon the performance of various Government Higher secondary and government secondary schools in the recently declared results of AISSCE and AISSE by CBSE wherein, the performance of the schools was poor and needed immediate introspection the causes of poor performance and to work out strategies, so that the schools could achieve better results in coming years. Year-wise academic achievement w.e.f. 2016-17 – 2019-20 was discussed and bottle necks were studied and discussed. Presiding over the meeting – Tirap DC Smti Bhanu Prabha, IAS call upon all the Principals, Headmasters of Government Higher Secondary Schools, Khonsa, Deomali, Borduria and Headmasters from 8 Govt. Secondary Schools to explain the reason behind the poor performances in the academic results of CBSE, 2019-20, she stated that comparatively percentage of CBSE results of Longding and Changlang districts are far better than the oldest district Tirap. The DC informed that in order to improve quality education in the district – she would engaged herself with her subordinate Administrative officers viz : Lim Modi, CO, Shri D.K. Thungdok, CO, Shri Nokgen Wangsu, DSO(Stat) to take extra classes in Mathematics, Economic and science subjects till posting of subject teachers. After prolong interactions with the Principals and Head-master of Govt. Higher Secondary /Secondary Schools – DC expressed unhappiness over their poor performances and urged all to be more dedicated and sincere while discharging the teachers profession to improve good percentage in the next academic years.
DC also instructed DDSE, Khonsa to initiate weekly test of the students from Class-VIII to Class-XII which will be supervised/monitor by DIO Rakesh Das,NIC, Khonsa for which all the PGTs will set question papers centrally at Khonsa. Responding to Headmaster of Govt. Secondary School, Kapu – DC assured initiate to provide 50 nos. cots for the hosteller’s students of Govt. Secondary School, Kapu. DC lauded Principal GHSS, Deomali for academic achievement 92.31 % for CBSE-2019-20 and assured to initiate for posting of Mathematics/ Economics teachers in Deomali GHSS and other schools too.
DDSE Khonsa Hortum Loyi informed that he would introduce district level board examination for Class – 4, 6 and 7 for which he appealed all the teachers to look back to their feeders school and guide them by supervising/ monitoring all those feeders schools and maintain log book to improve the career of the institutions.
