TIRAP CELEBRATED 73rd INDEPENDENCE DAY

Khonsa 15th August, 2019 : Along with rest of the country, the remotes and trouble torn district Tirap bordering Myanmar also celebrated 73rd India’s Independence Day in a very befitting manner and peacefully in all seven Administrative H/Qs including Khonsa H/Q, ADC H/Q, Deomali, EAC H/Q, Lazu, Cos H/Qs at Dadam – Soha – Borduria – Bari-Basip.

At Khonsa H/Q: Wanglam Sawin, Hon’ble 55-Khonsa East MLA as Chief Guest unfurled the National Tricolour amidst huge participation of parade contingents, Gaon Buras, Chiefs, Interim Panchayat leaders, HoDs, government employees and students . He took Rastriya Salute from IRBN, 16AR displayed Band, NCC, Scout and guides of various schools from Khonsa town. The ceremonial parade was followed by Inauguration of Exhibition Stalls and patriotic songs, sports for school children. Sawin distributed prizes to the winners of different category of games, exhibition stall.

Addressing the huge gathering Chief Guest Wanglam Sawin paid homage to the Father of Nation “Mathatma Gandhi”, Martyr Hangpan Dada and Martyr Hugu Chimyang freedom fighters who had laid down their lives for the freedom which we celebrate and rejoice today. He highlighted various developments which had transformed India into one of the most powerful countries of the world in these 73 years after the Independence. He admired Narendra Modiji Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu and DCM Chowna Mein for the untiring and cumulative efforts for the development of the country, the state and Tirap District in particular. While welcoming the steps taken by Government in implementing CMSSY and CMAAY schemes – Sawin appeal all to avail the benefits under various PM / CM Flagship program. He also appeal the youth of Tirap District to shunt all unlawful activities including indulging in Drugs and Kaani and other anti-element etc.

On the auspicious occasion Chief Guest cum local MLA Wanglam Sawin Flagged-off the new Ambulance for General Hospital, Khonsa funded under BADP in presence of DC, SP, ADC, HoDs and Public of Tirap District which was followed by inauguration of Exhibition and Sales Stall. Sawin later awarded prizes to the following achievers

1. Best Parade Contingent = NCC / AIR WINGS OF GHSS, Khonsa.

2. Best Stall for innovative decoration = NERCORMP.

3. Best school award with Rs. 3 lakhs cheque = GHSS, Borduria.

4. Recognition for securing highest % amongst students of Tirap with cash Award Rs. 10,000/- (Ten thousand) from DC, Khonsa = Miss Phancha Wangsu, D/o. Lankham Wangsu.

5. Presentation of Award to District Level Science Seminar

a) Shri Nokman Wangpan = 1st Prize R.K.M.S. Deomali.

b) Miss Nang Cassandra Tungkhang = 2nd Prize R.K.S.M. Khonsa.

c) Shri Thakhang Missia = 2nd Prize Christ the King School, Khonsa.

d) Sri Tangphua Wangsa = 3rd Prize Govt. Hr. Secdy.School, Khonsa.

Prizes to the winners of District Level Quiz Competition (Block-wise), winners of sports event and commendation certificate from DC, Khonsa to the government employees of various department were also awarded by Chief-guest Wanglam Sawin on the occasion.

The programme was attended by Deputy Commissioner P.N. Thungon, ADC Jalash Pertin, SP Esha Pandey, IPS, Commanding Officers of 16 Assam Rifles, 36 Bn CRPF, Punjab Regiment, Public leaders – Jowang Hosai, T.Tongluk, Ngampey Lamaty, Hangliam Sumnyan, HoDs, Ex-Armies, Gaon Buras, PRIs, Govt. Employees, School childrens, Public from Khonsa town.

At ADC H/Q, Deomali :-

The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated with full patriotism and very colorful programs at Deomali General Ground. The National Flag was unfurled by Hon’ble Minister PHED and DoTCL Wangki Lowang as a Chief Guest amidst huge gathering of ADC, HoDs from Deomali, Public, students community, govt officers, PRI members and Goan Buras of Deomali area. While addressing the gathering the PHED Minister announced the programs taken by the state govt.(i) the electricity supply of area and dist as a whole will be solve very soon as the matter is in process. (ii) the water supply of Deomali township (iii) Ongoing Roads projects will be improved shortly. Chief-guest Wangki Lowang, PHED Minister awarded cash prizes to the meritorious students of Class – X(Ten) and 12(twelve) who got 1st and 2nd Division in the last CBSE and AISSCE.

In EAC H/Q, Lazu :- The last administrative circle, neighboring Myanmar, the 73rd Independence Day celebration was graced by EAC incharge D.K. Thungdok, who unfurled the Tri-color and addressed the huge gathering of villagers from remotest areas of the circle. While greetings the people of Lazu administrative circle – Shri D.K. Thungdok, EAC I/c. addressed the huge gathering of Govt. officers and Staff, Villagers from the remotest areas of the circle. Ceremonial Parade by APP & KGBV students, School Children from various school from Lazu, Cultural display, games and sports marked the day more colourful.

The day long celebration was attended by Officers and officials of EAC’s office, Lazu, HoDs from Lazu circle, Security officers from 16 Assam Rifles and IRBN/APP, Interim PR Leaders.

In Dadam Circle H/Q : EAC Tagam Mibang graced the occasion as Chief Guest and unfurled the National Flag at Circle H/Q, Dadam in presence of OC Police Station, Dadam, Assistant Commandant 36Bn CRPF, Government Employees of CO’s office, Teachers. Public and Students from various school of Dadam circle. While receiving Rastryio Salutes from CRPF Jawans he paid homage to freedom fighters who laid down their lives in bringing India’s Independence and addressed the gathering in brief about the importance of Independence Day celebration – Chief Guest cum EAC Tagam Mibang appeal the people of Dadam administrative circle to avail all benefits under PM/CM Flagship programme.

Presentation of Patriotic songs and dances, sports items mark the day.

At Borduria Circle H/Q : The National Tri-color at Borduria Circle H/Q, was unfurled by 57-Borduria-Bogapani MLA Wanglin Lowangdong in presence of CO Borduria Lim Modi, GBs, Chiefs, Interim PRIs leaders, Officers and official from Borduria circle, Public and students. On the occasion – Chief guest cum MLA Wanglin Lowangdong inaugurated exhibition and sales stalls which was followed by plantation of 500 trees in and around the CO’s office Borduria campus.

March past by students of various schools, games & sports and cultural program and distribution of umbrella to GBs mark the day grand success.

At Soha Circle H/Q : 73rd Independence Day was celebrated at General ground Soha in a befitting manner in which Chief Guest Shri Liphok Lowang, Chief of Soha unfurled the National Tri-colour in presence of EAC Bapu, Office staff from Soha, school children and public of Soha circle. Colorful cultural program, games & sports mark the day. Later prizes to the winners of different category was distributed by Chief Guest cum Chief of Soha Liphok Lowang.

At Bari-Basip Circle H/Q. Katang : EAC Hakresha Kri who is also in-charge Circle H/Q, Bari-Basip unfurled the National Flag at General ground, Katang in presence of GBs, Interim PRI leaders, Chiefs, Officers and officials of CO’s office, Katang. Games & Sports and Cultural items make the day more colourful. In sports – Independence Football Cup winner – Katang FC and Runner up Wathin FC for which Running Trophy was given away by Hon’ble MLA Wanglam Sawin. (DIPRO)
