About Solid Waste Management

          Solid Waste Management (SWM) is the organized process of collecting, transporting, treating, recycling, and safely disposing of solid waste to protect public health and preserve the environment.

          The District Administration, Tirap, is committed to implementing effective solid waste management practices under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban & Rural) and the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.

          Our objective is to encourage responsible waste disposal, promote segregation at source, reduce environmental pollution, and create a cleaner, healthier Tirap for present and future generations.
